Day 2 of Writing to My Heart’s Content

How the fuck do I get stuff done in a day? I think of this question daily. More like on an hourly basis, let’s be real.

But it’s so hard to solve because it’s not a sexy answer. What? Yeah, not sexy.

Getting the work we care about most done on time is about routine, discipline, and keeping your mind sharp enough to operate at these levels.

To illustrate this, let me introduce you to Lebron James. You may have heard of him, but not exactly in this light. His superpower? Being able to control his mind the best. It’s fascinating, truly.

Take this year. It’s 2021. The Los Angeles Lakers (his basketball team) are facing the toughest season because they had the shortest downtime compared to any other team. Yes, even Miami, because the LA Lakers had to celebrate.

His teammates are exhausted. They’re mentally worn and physically tired. His coaches are grinding it out. Him? Yeah, he’s tired, banged up. But he still shows up.

Today’s article is about dedication. From now on, I am going to use this template for my writing in a stream-of-conscious fashion.

Theme: Dedication (other examples: attention span, remarkable things I see)

A Story: I’ll write a story and some have hard evidence to include.

Takeaways for life.
